Fall Trend You Can Start Wearing Now: Wild Wild West PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tracey Lomrantz

It's not often that the parade of models at a fashion show can inspire you to jump out of your seat and scream "yeeeeeeee haw!", but that's exactly what we were feeling when we saw the Western-inspired sportswear at some of this week's biggest shows. Check it out--and shop the look for less!--after the jump.

Derek Lam's homage to the American West was complete with cowboy hats, chunky knits, and leather skirts.

A union suit and a holster--like we saw on Betsey Johnson's hay-covered runway--may be a bit too literal for our taste, but what's not to love about a corseted top reminiscent of a barmaid in an old-fashioned saloon?

Zac Posen's take on the western shirt was artfully tailored and surprisingly chic--especially when paired with a silk skirt in a soft color.

Leave it to the master of Americana (that would be Ralph Lauren, duh!) to make western wear feel totally new--the volume on those sleeves and the buttoned-up pants look so modern.

We're loving the western trend because it's so darn easy to wear--toss a pearl-buttoned plaid shirt on with jeans; throw a leather vest over your minidress; or rock cowboy boots with just about anything in your closet. Shop our version of the look for less now:

What do you think of the western trend, dolls? Do any of you already own cowboy boots? What do you wear them with? Are you from Texas? Do you dress like it? Discuss!
